Wrotham School

High Expectations, Challenge and Opportunity

Wrotham School is a comprehensive secondary school on the outskirts of the historic village of Wrotham, and close to Sevenoaks, Kent. Wrotham was a convertor academy in 2013 establishing the Trust as a MAT. Wrotham was approved as an Academy Sponsor in 2016. Wrotham has a strong reputation as one of the highest performing comprehensive schools in Kent. The school is heavily oversubscribed and as a result has had to expand in recent years.

Our vision is to create an outstanding school where all students, regardless of ability or background, make exceptional progress, gain meaningful qualifications and therefore have access to valuable progression routes that will enable them to be well qualified to achieve success and well-being through having choices in their adult life.

Ethos:

High Expectations

Have the highest expectations of ourselves and each other, including the challenge to persevere even when it gets tough. All students are expected to take part. All students are expected to achieve. Every member of Wrotham community is expected to uphold our values and ethos.

Challenge

Challenge each other to be the best we can be and to be kind to others. Build character through measured risk and opportunity in academic and social opportunities. Be ambitious and aspirational. Challenge pre-conceived ideas and limitations.

Opportunity

The opportunity to develop the character strengths needed to make good decisions and a positive contribution to society. Take every opportunity and learn from and reflect on success and failure.

Aylesford School is in the process of conversion to academy status and being sponsored by the Divergent Partnership Trust. An Academy Order has been issued to that effect. The school is already collaborating strongly with the Trust, and in many ways operating as if it was officially part of the Trust.
